Hemis Teschu festival Monastery: Hemis monastery Season: Summer Duration: 5 Nights / 6 Days
The annual Hemis Tseschu is one of the most famous monastic festivals of Ladakh, which annually takes place in the peak summer. This monastic festival is celebrated to commemorate the birthday of Guru Padamasambhava, the founder of Tantric Buddhism in Tibet. The two-day festival is marked by prayers, mask wearing performances and the display of centuries old thangka,(religious scroll painting) which is one of the treasures housed at Hemis monastery. Throughout the festival, traditional monastic mask dances are performed by the monks. Every 12 year, the Gompa’s greatest treasure, a huge Thangka- painted or embroidered on silk is ritually exhibited.

Day 03: Leh–Nubra Valley. Overnight at Leh.

Day 05: Pangong Lake to Leh via Changla pass. Overnight at Leh.
Day 06: Leh to Delhi by flight.
